This document is for updating the image based menu boards. These types of menus are identified in the RI-Publisher portal as Universal Content Manager (Media) application types.
Configuration Steps
Adding a New Asset
1. Click the Content Management action on the menu board you want to add an asset to
2. Click Add Record once you are in the Content Management section of a particular app
3. Click Browse or drag and drop an image on to the popup dialog. Once it uploads the picture, it will fill the Title of the asset with the filename of the image. Feel free to change that.
4. If you are only going to have a single image scheduled per a time period (e.g., 1 image from 1am-10:59am, another image from 11:00am-12:59am) then there is no need to set a file duration (you can leave default of 15s).
Playtime duration becomes useful if you are scheduling multiple assets within a specific time frame. An example would be to have 2 images on 2 separate TVs and each asset plays for a minute. You could set the duration of each asset that is specified in a single time frame to play for 1m. You can even drag and drop the assets within each menu board so that they play in proper order across multiple TVs when switching.
5. You can now set the Broadcast Schedule which consists of a date range, enabling weekdays and setting the time frame of a group of assets/a single asset.
6. Once the asset is saved, it will bring you back to the Content Management page for the menu board you are adding an asset to. The current asset you just uploaded will be set to a 'pending' status. Click the pending status and select publish to actually publish this asset to the menu board.
If you are replacing an existing asset, change the old asset to a status of refused or delete the asset entirely if you no longer need it stored on this portal.
